For one of our local teens, we’re hosting a Period Products Donation Box in the foyer until April 22. Read all the details below:

My name is Gaby. I am a senior at the Met High School. For my Senior Thesis Project, the topic that I chose to research and focus on was Reproductive Justice. As an aspiring OBGYN, I felt it was important to understand this better. As I learned, Reproductive Justice is defined as, “The human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, including the choice to have or not have children, and to parent those children in safe and sustainable communities.” My main focus of the project was to get teens boys involved in Reproductive Justice. With the support of my mentor at the Womxn Project, I hosted a community conversation with teens, medical providers, and community members to better understand how Reproductive Justice is viewed by different perspectives in our community. As a community give back, I partnered up with AmenityAid to host a period product drive in my school and local community. I put collection bins in my community to obtain the period products. To conclude my project, teens boys will be helping me advertise the bins and they will be part of delivering the period products to AmenityAid.
