The results are in!

The Urban Greens board is extremely excited to welcome 7 new board members! We’re also incredibly appreciative of all the impressive candidates who were nominated, as well as all the individuals who applied! This wide participation was critical for the Co-op to proceed with our first ever competitive elections.
This year, the board nominated 10 candidates for consideration by the owners, to fill 7 open board seats. Competitive elections are a powerful way to ensure the board remains accountable to owners by putting the final decision in the owners’ hands, and we had a record 511 owners vote this year!
With the results tallied, we are excited to announce the following candidates have been elected to the board:
- Julius Searight
- Seney Chang
- Zaida Hernandez
- Janet Villanueva-Williams
- Christian Vialva
- Jennie Msall
- Sarah Turkus
We also want to offer a huge thanks to Sophia Mackenzie, Francesca Gallo, and Heather Jackson. The unfortunate inevitably of competitive elections is that it means some incredible candidates are not selected, and we’re appreciative of their participation in this process to help make board elections more accountable to owners. In addition, we want to thank all 27 candidates who applied for nomination! Urban Greens is fortunate to have so many dedicated owners who are ready to get involved!
